“…Boys were found to participate more significantly in bullying behavior than girls, as shown by most studies (Byrne, 1999; Collins, McAleavy, & Adamson,2004; Defensor del Pueblo-UNICEF, 2000, 2007; Olweus, 1999; Whitney & Smith, 1993), and expressed more favorable attitudes toward bullying than girls (Almeida et al, 2010; Salmivalli & Voeten, 2004). As in other gender studies, we observed that, compared to girls, boys scored significantly higher in instrumentality and lower in expressiveness (Bem, 1974; Rodríguez, Lameiras, Magalhães, & Carrera, 2010; Spence, 1993; Spence & Hall, 1996) and expressed significantly higher hostile sexism (Glick & Fiske, 1996; Lameiras, Carrera, & Rodríguez, 2009; Lameiras & Rodríguez, 2003) and more negative attitudes toward lesbians and gay men (Hicks & Lee, 2006; Rodríguez, Lameiras, Carrera, & Vallejo, 2013).…”
