Looking for Lorentz invariance violation (LIV) in the latest long baseline accelerator neutrino oscillation data

Abstract: In this paper, we have analysed the latest data from NO$$\nu $$ ν A and T2K with the Lorentz invariance violation along with the standard oscillation hypothesis. We have found that the NO$$\nu $$ ν A data cannot distinguish between the two hypotheses at $$1\, \sigma $$ 1 σ confidence level. T2K data and the combined data analysis… Show more

“…A similar result would be expected from NOvA [390]. A mild tension between T2K and NOvA oscillation measurements can be eased by nonzero CPT-odd Lorentz violation [391], although such possibility is severely constrained by other results [392]. MINOS [393] had a magnetized far detector and unlikely other experiments it allowed a direct comparison of neutrinos and anti-neutrinos.…”

“…The effect of new physics on the determination of unknown oscillation parameters in the long-baseline accelerator neutrino experiments have been studied in detail in the literature [73]. In recent times, efforts have been made to resolve the tension between NOνA and T2K experiments with the help of non-standard physics [74][75][76][77]. In this section, we will discuss the present status of different non-standard physics to resolve this tension.…”

“…The tension is reduced when the data are analyzed in the context of Lorentz invariance violation (LIV). However, it is accompanied by a new mild tension between the best-fit values of sin 2 θ 23 [33]. Besides, the 0123456789().…”
