Secondly, PGN occurs more often in males than in females [19,21,37,43], Thirdly, PGN manifests in a small part of cases after viral and bacterial infections of the respiratory tract [19,21], Streptococcus infections probably play a minor role [21,26,37,38], because in most of our patients tonsillitis were reported to have occurred often many years prior to the onset of the renal disease.
