Long-term stability of the WISC-Ⅳ in children with autism spectrum disorder

Abstract: The present study aimed to investigate the test-retest reliability of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fourth edition (WISC-IV) in a sample of 138 children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) from a child psychiatric clinic in Tokyo, Japan. The stability coefficient of the Full Scale Intelligence Quotient (FSIQ), which is composed of four indices, was very high at .83, while those of the Verbal Comprehension Index (VCI), Perceptual Reasoning Index (PRI), Working Memory Index (WMI), and Processing S… Show more

“…In this study, K-WISC-IV was used as a pre-and post-test tool. This intelligence test is the Korean version of WISC -IV which was revised in 2011 and can assess the cognitive abilities of children from aged 6-16 years and 11 months [36,37]. K-WISC-IV is used as a method for calculating a full-scale IQ (FSIQ) by summing four cognitive ability scores (average = 100, standard deviation = 15)-verbal understanding, perceptual reasoning, working memory, and processing speed [38].…”
