“…14 Previous studies using data from the ALiCCS cohort have shown that childhood cancer survivors are at higher risk for numerous adverse events that need continuous medical attention. [46][47][48][49][50] These studies have also proved that using hospital registries as the source of study endpoints is comparable to other sources such as questionnaires and single-center registries/cohorts. 47 It is possible that some of the study outcomes would have been better captured using other methods as we only included skeletal adverse events resulting in hospital admissions, possibly underestimating the number of events.…”

“…Along with the unique personal identification number, this enables researchers to create large homogeneous cohorts and track patients through different population and quality registries over the lifetime of the patient 14 . These studies have also proved that using hospital registries as the source of study endpoints is comparable to other sources such as questionnaires and single‐center registries/cohorts 47 .…”

“…Bonnesen et al . observed an RR of 2.5 for any renal and urinary track disease in a Nordic register data consisting of 32,519 one‐year‐survivors of childhood cancers . They observed an RR of 2.5 for nephronic syndrome and RRs of 7.5 and 5.4 for acute and chronic kidney failure.…”
