“…Another indicator of homology would be similarity of phenotypic affect when supposedly homologous chromosomes were deleted. Nineteen previous cases of cri-du-chat have been described where a simple deletion has been present and where the deleted chromosome has been identified either by analysis of length or autoradiographic labelling behaviour (Bettecken et al 1965, Miller et al 1966, Warburton et al 1967, Schlegel et al 1967, Neuheuser et al 1968, Ridler & Faunch, 1969.
