Lobetyolin suppressed lung cancer in a mouse model by inhibiting epithelial-mesenchymal transition

Abstract: Traditional Chinese medicines are gaining more attention as promising adjuvant agents for conventional chemotherapy. Recent studies have shown that lobetyolin (LBT) is one of the main bioactive compounds of traditional Chinese medicines and it exhibits anticancer activity in several types of cancer. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the mechanism by which LBT inhibits lung cancer. A549 human lung cancer cells were treated with LBT. In addition, A549 cells were injected into Balc/b nude mice to establi… Show more

“…Lobetyolin is one of the most important active components of CR which has good anticancer effects [ 40 , 41 , 42 ], exerts cytotoxic protection [ 43 ] and was also used to treat chronic kidney disease [ 44 ]. In the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2020 edition), Lobetyolin was also employed as a distinguishing component to identify CR via thin-layer chromatography (TLC).…”

“…The lung tissue was fixed with 4% polyformaldehyde (Merck Life Science, 30525-89-4) and embedded in paraffin for further experiments. The tumor tissue was stored in a freezer at -80 °C and used to make frozen sections [15]. All experiments involving mice were approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Quzhou People's Hospital.…”
