Liver enzymes, mean platelet volume, and red cell distribution width in gestational diabetes

Abstract: A series of coordination polymers of the general formula {[M(BDC)(azoles)(H 2 O) m ].xH 2 O} n (where M = Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II); BDC = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate; azoles = 2-aminobenzothiazole, 2aminothiazole, and 2-amino-4-methyl-thiazole; m = 0 or 1; and x = 1 or 2) were prepared and characterized.The complexes were characterized based on elemental analysis, infrared and electronic spectral studies, magnetic measurements, molar conductance, thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy… Show more

“…Conflicting results were obtained about the platelet count in patients with GDM in some studies. A significant difference in platelet count was not observed between the studies of Bozkurt et al (13) and Erdogan et al (10). The platelet count was found significantly lower than the control in the study of Erikçi et al (14).…”

“…The reason of the increase of DM can not be enlightened completely, however it can be associated with oxidative stress and rapid erythrocyte elimination (9). Any significant relation in respect of RDW between patients with GDM and healthy pregnant women has not been found in the study of Erdogan et al (10). Sahbaz et al (11) have studied RDW in patients with GDM and they have found significantly higher levels of RDW than the healthy pregnants.…”

“…12,16,21,22 Another study showed that GGT in the GDM group were higher than normal control & that was statistically signi cant (p <0.05). 16 Other study showed that cut o value of GGT was 16 IU/L, the sensitivity was 86%, and speci city was 37%. 22 is is approximately similar to our study.…”

“…GGT, ALT, PCT (plateletcrit), PDW (platelet distribution width) adioponectin, follistatin like-3, sex hormone binding globulin. 16,17 ALT is a marker for liver fat accumulation and is more speci c for liver pathology. 12 Other than liver, GGT is also found in other tissues and is less speci c for liver pathology.…”
