“…The range of therapeutically effective serum concentration of Li in Japan has been reported to bc between 0.4 and 1.0 mEq/1 (Watanahe et al , 1973) for treatment of moderately and severely ill manic patients. In a previous double-blind comparison study of Li and CPZ in Japan with a multi-institutional design similar to the present one (Takahashi et al, 1975), the mean daily dosage of Li was 1108 mg and the serum level of Li was 0.57 ± 0.30 mEq/l, and the percentage of patients who showed marked improvement was 32.4 % with 67.6 'x, showing marked and moderate improvement rates.…”
