Computer networks are ubiquitous in modern technology-based infrastructures. As the number of users and data packets in networks continues to grow rapidly, The demand for a comprehensive architecture to manage network processes has escalated significantly. The introduction of software-defined network architecture has offered engineers and researchers in this field an opportunity to tackle network congestion issues. It also enables them to enhance network performance in terms of bandwidth, Quality of Service (QoS), and reduced latency. This article focuses on one aspect of software-defined networks, specifically network load balancing, and proposes a new algorithm inspired by the hunting behavior of whales in the ocean. Nature-inspired algorithms draw inspiration from the behavior of various species in nature, incorporating their mathematical algorithms into different aspects of computer systems. These optimization algorithms, although based on prediction and logical suggestions, have demonstrated superior performance compared to traditional computer algorithms such as sequential (Round-Robin Counting methods) algorithms.

Software Defined Networking is an adaptable way of networking, which disconnects data forwarding plane and controlplane of system equipment's and also solves issues in existing network infrastructure. More specifically, the control-plane of software defined network decides the advancing way of network flow with Centralized Control Manner (CCM). SDN (Software Defined Networking) is a strategy for making, planning and overseeing systems which intend to change this present unfortunate circumstance. It has been used in dissimilar areas, like a campus networks and data center systems. In this survey paper, we've reviewed the concept of (SDNs) Software Defined Networks, its architecture and applications. In the survey, it h as been found that SDN load balancing has become more smart and efficient and reduces the statistic collection overhead and maintain better QoS (Quality of Service) data rates. In addition, we reviewed the direct routing based algorithms of Load Balancer and compare with Round Robin Strategy. Furthermore, we've reviewed and compared the existing work to get better idea about the concept of Load balancing.

The growth of the networks has difficult network management. Recently, a concept called software-defined network (SDN) has been proposed to address this issue, which makes network management more adaptable. Control and forwarding planes are separated in SDN. The control plane is a centralized logical controller that controls the network. The forwarding plane that consists of transfer devices is responsible for transmitting packets. Because the network resources are limited, optimizing the use of resources in the networks is an important issue. Load balancing improves the balanced distribution of loads across multiple resources in order to maximize the reliability and network resources efficiency. SDN controllers can create an optimal load balancing compared to traditional networks because they have a network global view. The load-balancing problem can be solved using many different natureinspired meta-heuristic techniques because it has the NP-complete nature.Hence, for solving load balancing problem in SDN, nature-inspired metaheuristic techniques are important methods. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is not a survey or systematic review on studying these matters. Accordingly, in the area of the load balancing in the SDN, this paper reviews systematically the nature-inspired meta-heuristic techniques. Also, this study demonstrates advantages and disadvantages regarded of the chosen nature-inspired meta-heuristic techniques and considers their algorithms metrics. Moreover, to apply better load balancing techniques in the future, the important challenges of these techniques have been investigated.
