A tablet from the 6th century BC succeeded in revealing the giant six-level Ziggurat which became known as the Tower of Babel. According to the biblical text narrative in Genesis 11: 1-9, the construction of the Ziggurat was successful because the perpetrators were in one Babylonian language. If this theory is correct, then the concept of one language can be implemented in various lines of life so that all who are planned to succeed in its implementation with the involvement of all group members. To discuss, test these assumptions, and analyze the phenomenon of one language, research in the form of literature studies is carried out through this paper. The research aims to reveal the power of one language behind the success of the development, and at the same time, the irony of the destruction of the Babylonian Ziggurat. The Group Communication Theory and Critical Discourse are using analysis scissors. The results of the study show that one language can create unity and convergence for any purpose and design in a group or community. Even the unity of language builds internal filters within each person who is part of the community to distinguish good and bad information, which builds or breaks down positive or negative information because the unity of language plays a role in decision making and the formation of actions.

Penelitian ini disusun menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis analisis wacana untuk mengulas dan membahas tarian Maena yang dilakukan pada upacara perkawinan adat suku Nias di Sumatera Utara. Maena adalah tarian budaya yang melibatkan banyak peserta. Hampir semua orang Nias mampu melakukan jenis tarian ini karena mudah dipelajari dan memiliki pola gerakan yang sederhana. Sebagai produk budaya, Maena adalah tanda wacana dengan kandungan bentuk dan makna simbolik. Sehingga, analisis dilakukan dengan pendekatan semiotika dan wacana. Hasilnya, Maena bukan hanya tarian belaka. Selain menjadi alat literasi yang kuat, Maena juga menjadi sebuah identitas dalam struktur budaya suku Nias yang melekat dalam cara hidup bermasyarakat, yang membawa pesan-pesan moral untuk tujuan edukasi dan transformasi paradigma di satu sisi serta kritik sosial pada sisi lainnya. Maena memenuhi tanda sebagai sebuah signifying order yang diterima masyarakat yang dalam kacamata semiotika mengandung unsur ekspresif dan emotif.

Marriage in Nias included in a traditional marriage model heavily influenced by the Nias people's pre-Christian culture and the customary law called Fondrako. That is why the color of local wisdom in its implementation is evident, but it also becomes a syncretism whenever it intersects with religious teachings. The Nias marriage scheme is, and what kind of Fondrako customary law influences its implementation, and the theological reposition of religion in the traditional marriage system is the discussion and objectives of this paper. The method used is a literature study with qualitative analysis, which utilizes primary sources about Nias from books and research results. Conclusion: the practice of marriage in Nias took place in three stages, namely the search for the bride and groom (famaigi ono alawe), engagement (fanunu manu), and the implementation of the marriage itself (falöwa). Cultural values in Nias weddings are still solid and practiced today. The church in Nias has succeeded in carrying out the spiritual inclusion of tribal religions into Christianity in marriage procedures. One of this research's contributions is the need for awareness for the new generation of Nias to realize the Nias marriage scheme in its philosophical values rather than rejecting it for complicated and burdensome procedural reasons. The Nias generation itself must defend this cultural wealth.
