The vulnerability of communities in facing volcano disaster is one of the indicators of the low literacy of science. The low knowledge about volcanic material causes it needs to be packed in an attractive learning so that it can tap into the ability of students' science literacy by using teaching materials that are closer to student learning environments. This research aims to develop the local wisdom-based natural science module on the theme of Mount Kelud eruption, which is both theoretical and empirical. The type of this research development is Research and Development (R & D) by adapting the ASSURE instructional design. The results of this research are the validation results of theoretical feasibility of teaching materials based on the components of material feasibility of 87, 5% with very good category, components of presentation feasibility of 91, 7% with very good category, components of language feasibility of 88, 9% with very good category, components of local wisdom values of 87, 5% with very good category, and components of science literacy feasibility of 88, 9% with 88, 9% with very good category. The results of empirical feasibility are the test results of students' science literacy with N-gain variation value of 0,2; 0,3; and 0,4 respectively with low, medium, and medium category. The results show that the developed local wisdom-based natural science module is suitable to improve the ability of students' science literacy either theoretically or empirically.

“…Mengamati realitas pembelajaran sains saat ini, kecenderungan kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa PGSD masih rendah, hal ini sejalan dengan hasil penelitian Sudjana, A bahwa kemampuan literasi sains guru dan mahasiswa calon guru SD perlu mendapatkan perhatian hal ini karena hasil penelitiannya menunjukan bahwa hanya 21 orang (51,22%) mahasiswa PGSD yang telah mencapai literasi kimia, dan hanya 6 orang guru SD (30%) yang telah mencapai literasi kimia Sujana and dkk (2014) . Rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa calon guru SD juga ditunjukan oleh hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Winata (2016) temuannya menunjukan bahwa secara keseluruhan mahasiswa mempunyai kemampuan literasi sains yang rendah.…”

Education has a very central role in building quality human resources in order to survive and live life in a global era full of competition, so we need a pattern of science learning that is oriented to the paradigm of technology-based learning. Science, Technology, Engineering, And Mathematics learning is one of learning that is able to develop the competencies of students to solve problems faced in everyday life through the use of technology. Since the role of teachers in education is very important, preservice teachers of primay school must have a deep knowledge of science. In other words, preservice teachers of primay school must have good scientific literacy. scientificliteracy is one of the important aspects that must be mastered by preservice teachers of primay school, because it influences the learning process in elementary school. scientific literacy is very important to solve various problems related to ethics, morals and global issues due to rapid changes in the fields of science and technology.Pendidikan memiliki peranan yang sangat sentral dalam membangun sumber daya manusia berkualitas guna dapat bertahan dan menjalani kehidupan di era global yang penuh dengan persaingan, dengan begitu diperlukan pola pembelajaran sains yang berorientasi pada paradigma learning berbasis teknologi. Pembelajaran Science, Technology, Engineering, And Mathematics merupakan salah satu pembelajaran yang mampu mengembangkan kompetensi yang dimiliki mahasiswa untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dihadapi pada kehidupan sehari-hari melalui pemanfaatan teknologi. Mengingat peran guru dalam pendidikan sangat penting, mahasiswa calon guru SD harus memiliki pengetahuan yang mendalam mengenai sains. Dengan kata lain, mahasiswa pada bidang ke SD an harus mempunyai literasi sains yang baik. Literasi sains merupakan salah satu aspek penting yang harus dikuasai mahasiswa PGSD, karena berpengaruh terhadap proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Literasi sains sangat penting untuk memecahkan berbagai permasalahan yang terkait dengan etika, moral dan isu-isu global akibat perubahan yang pesat dalam bidang sains dan teknologi. 21th century student is demanded in developing mindset, having mindset needs quality intellecttual. for having intellectual student needs education, that is loving literacy culture. through literacy, student will have the abality in reading, writing and understanding the content in a writing. there are still primary students that get phobia in reading. Comic is a problem solving tool for phobia children that can form student’s literacy. Comic can provide stimulus in reading literacy. If primary student has used to in reading, they will consider that reading is a hobby. Comic has reading content that can make primary student join in the comic story and comic show the expression in every conversation that is shown by figure and through either the picture or colourful combination in comic it makes primary students are happy to read comic. Some pages of comic content consist of elements such as (1) Panel, (2) space between panel , (3) Angle of image and Picture size in Panel (4) Narration, (5) Word balloon, (6) Ilustration, (7) Story, (8) Symbols.
