“…The inflammatory phase comprises asymmetrical, 4,9,10 rarely unilateral, 11,12 inflammatory nodules or plaques located on the extremities of the lower limbs (ankles, calves, and feet) and is sometimes associated with debilitating symptoms such as muscle pain and cramps 6,7,9,10,12,13 . Triggers such as upper respiratory tract infection, trauma, and friction are sometimes reported, 4,12,14,15 as was the case for one patient in our series. Associated anomalies have been reported during this initial phase, such as inflammatory synovitis, 16,17 bone and ligament edema, 9,18 or prominent tibial growth lines on X‐rays 19 .…”
