“…The AMS questions were not normally distributed as assessed by visual inspection of histograms, as well as skewness and kurtosis scores. Descriptive statistics and the use of ordinal data for this study supported the use of nonparametric methods, which are free from statistical distribution assumptions (Emerson, 2017;Kero & Lee, 2016;Patle, Libang, & Ahuja, 2016). Median scores were calculated for each of the AMS subscales.…”

“…Missing data were not included in statistical analyses, and descriptive statistics were obtained for answers to each question of the pre-/ posttests. Likert-scaled elements (Emerson, 2017) from Section 1 of the pre-/posttests were summarized by calculating median scores of all items, and prior to the calculations, a Cronbach's alpha measurement (Bonett & Wright, 2014) of .741 was obtained to ensure internal consistency of the scale. The Mann−Whitney U test was conducted to examine the nonparametric variables from Section 1 of the pre-/posttests, and a Wilcoxon test was used to determine if a significant change in scores from the related samples occurred for Section 2; a limit for statistical significance for all analyses was identified as p less than .05.…”

“…Students were asked to self-evaluate their competence in areas identified earlier using a Likert scale [3], where 5 represents the highest degree of proficiency, and 1 the lowest. Each area was broken down into subcategories to better evaluate specific outcomes.…”
