The word sustainable became more and more important in maritime affairs especially in shipping. It has strong impact on environmental, social and economic sector. Throughout the years the number of researches on sustainable shipping has increased and became often represented in scientific articles. Through the authors’ science mapping, it could be noticed that many papers on this topic were elaborated on and were given the systematic literature review for the period of ten years, precisely 2009-2019. In this paper, authors try to research how many articles with the term sustainable shipping had been published in the last two years. The term sustainable shipping was searched in keywords, publication titles and abstracts. The research resulted in 35 selected papers. The obtained scientific papers are categorized according to the following: Web of science Categories, Web of Science Index, Paper Document, Open Access, Research Area and Countries. The paper will try to give future research directions how to easily categorize hot research topics in the domain of the word sustainable or any other, which is of author’s interests.

Over the past few decades, the liquefied natural gas (LNG) business has experienced astounding expansion and gained global relevance. LNG has emerged as a key element in meeting the world's rising energy demand while working to cut carbon emissions, since it is a cleaner and more adaptable energy source. The entire process from natural gas extraction to consumption is covered in the presented analysis of the LNG value chain, starting out by looking at the discovery and production of natural gas reserves, highlighting important innovations and methods used during the extraction stage. The procedures used to treat and purify natural gas in order to meet the strict standards for liquefaction are detailed. Analysis of the liquefaction process reveals numerous liquefaction technologies, e.g. the well‐known conventional liquefaction and the cutting‐edge floating LNG and small‐scale LNG facilities. LNG storage and transportation, as critical components in the value chain, are examined in great detail. When the LNG reaches its destination, regasification plays a crucial role in repurposing it as a gas for distribution and consumption. Regasification technologies, such as conventional onshore terminals, floating storage and regasification units, and land‐based regasification facilities, are covered. Concerns regarding methane emissions and the carbon footprint, the potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions through new technology, the environmental impact of LNG, and the economics of LNG are also considered across its value chain.

As a response to stricter exhaust emission regulations, an increasing number of diesel-powered ships are switching to liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel or installing post-processing devices to reduce exhaust gas. However, these methods are not feasible for small ships operating primarily along the coast. This is because the cost of the exhaust gas post-processing devices is high, while a large-volume fuel system is required in the case of LNG. Thus, this study used a propane gas fuel system based on a 5.0 L gasoline engine for easy application to existing small ships without major modifications. To optimize the control according to changes in the fuel system, a 1D simulation was performed on the engine to be developed, and ignition timing optimization was investigated. In addition, fuel consumption was compared with that of a gasoline-based engine. The propane engine achieved over 95% power in comparison to a gasoline-based engine. During cold-start tests, starting performance at −15 °C was ensured. The purpose of this study is to provide guidelines to assist the development of LPG or propane engines based on gasoline engines through these processes.
