Abstract: To the Editor:Ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) implantation, including revision surgeries and reprogramming of adjustable shunt valves, is the most common procedure performed by pediatric neurosurgeons, costing an estimated US$100 million each year in the United States alone.
