Interactions in metallization systems for integrated circuitsAbstract. This paper presents the results from the development and implementation of Superstack algorithms to be dynamically used with integrated systems and supercomputing resources. Processing of geophysical data, thus named geoprocessing, is an essential part of the analysis of geoscientific data. The theory of Superstack algorithms and the practical application on modern computing architectures was inspired by developments introduced with processing of seismic data on mainframes and within the last years leading to high end scientific computing applications. There are several stacking algorithms known but with low signal to noise ratio in seismic data the use of iterative algorithms like the Superstack can support analysis and interpretation. The new Superstack algorithms are in use with wave theory and optical phenomena on highly performant computing resources for huge data sets as well as for sophisticated application scenarios in geosciences and archaeology.

Will-be-set-by-IN-TECH assisting and integrated methods and techniques. Integrating these methods with information systems and the support of remote sensing, cartography, depth imaging, and infrastructural and social sources a more and more holistic view on the earth system will be possible. This will help to gain insight in the fields of seismology, meteorology, climatology, prospection and exploration, medical geology, epidemiology, environmental planning and many more disciplines. The resulting information systems and applications are not only used for scientific research but for public information, education, disaster management, expert systems and many more. In various application areas the surplus value arises with intelligent combination of information. A cartographic system only displaying spatial data is of less significance for a seismological disaster management application if there are no additional information and features provided. Provisioning these information will in many case result in interactive computation. For some use cases requests for points of interest, dynamical cartography, event programming, flexible event triggering, long-term monitoring like in seismology, catastrophe management and meteorology are necessary, for others simulation or modeling of scenarios are essential. All these fields of application contain tasks that cannot be handled in extend for large and complex systems on one local compute and storage resource only. Processes like processing jobs, visualisation, traveling salesman problems, and multimedia production have to be transferred to systems with the capacity necessary for multiple requests at the same time. We should not isolate scholarly research from long term information science concepts and architectures used in geosciences disciplines. Therefore the overall goal is to integrate systems, concepts, software, hardware and other components on a higher level of collaboration and strategical decision. As many application scenarios arise from geosciences and natural sciences, a number of examples are given based on implementations from these disciplines and case studies done over the last decade. Present activities and future work to be done on development and strategies level are presented to help overcome the stagnancy in the evolution of integrated systems. This chapter will show the components that in most other cases are discussed independently and presents a basic concept for integrating systems as successfully used with geosciences and natural sciences case studies. Integrated Information and Computing Systems for Natural, Spatial, and Social Sciences

This chapter gives a comprehensive overview of the present status of Integrated Information and Computing Systems for complex use cases and system architectures in order to exploit new resources for opening up new cognitive insights for natural sciences applications. It shows up with the challenges creating complex integrated information and computing components and covers implementation, frameworks, and security issues with these processes and how the overall complexity can be reduced using collaboration frameworks with Distributed and High Performance Computing resources in natural sciences disciplines for building integrated public / commercial information system components within the e-Society. The focus is on using a collaboration framework for integrating computing resources with information system components, interfaces for data and application interchange, based on current developments and embedding development, operational, up to strategical level. Referenced are the case studies within the long-term GEXI project, GISIG framework and Active Source components used in heterogeneous environments. The Collaboration house framework has been created over the last years and is being used for a number of scenarios in research environments, using High End Computing resources. The application of these methods for commercial service structures affords the consideration of various legal, security, and trust aspects. This has already been used by international partners from geosciences, natural sciences, industry, economy, and education though this concept has been found a solution for the component integration and cooperation for information systems, e.g., in natural sciences and archaeology. Nevertheless the different aspects and situations need to be collected in order to provide and disseminate them for wider use. Examples are Envelope Interfaces for geoscientific processing, from advanced scientific computing up to High Performance Computing and Information Systems as well as enabling object security and verification for Integrated Information and Computing Systems.
