Jurnal belajar dapat dijadikan sebagai media untuk melakukan kegiatan menilai diri sendiri yang dapat dintegrasikan dengan problem-based learning (PBL). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model PBL berbantuan jurnal belajar terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan kemampuan metakognitif siswa. Desain penelitian ini yaitu quasi-experimental design dengan bentuk posttest-only control design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh model PBL berbantuan jurnal belajar terhadap hasil belajar kognitif sebesar 61% dengan kategori kuat, sedangkan pengaruh model PBL berbantuan jurnal belajar terhadap kemampuan metakognitif sebesar 41% dengan kategori sedang. Berdasarkan analisis data untuk belajar kognitif siswa menunjukkan bahwa model PBL berbantuan jurnal belajar berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa jurnal belajar memberikan pengaruh yang sedang terhadap kemampuan metakognitif siswa. Oleh karena itu, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model PBL berbantuan jurnal belajar berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan kemampuan metakognitif siswa.

The important skills identified by UNESCO for the 21st century remain related to the four pillars of education, including: 1) learning to find out, 2) learning to do, 3) learning to be personal), an 4) learning to live together in peace (learning to live together in peace). One of the skills that must be empowered through the learning process in higher education is metacognitive skills. The aim of this research is to increase metacognitive abilities through the Reading Questioning Answering (RQA) model assisted by learning journals in social and development problems courses." This research method is a quasi-experimental type. The results of research on the influence of the RQA (Reading Questioning and Answering) model assisted by learning journals on students' metacognitive abilities in learning social and development issues, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the RQA (Reading Questioning and Answering) learning model assisted by learning journals on students' metacognitive learning outcomes with Gain score analysis shows that there is a significant difference in the Gain Score percentage. The difference in the percentage value of the gain score obtained from the two. The control group got a percentage of 10% in the ineffective category. Meanwhile, the experimental group had a G-Score percentage of 60% in the quite effective category. The results of implementing learning with RQA assisted by learning journals are effective in improving students' metacognitive skills

Metacognitive skill is essential to have by every individual, including the prospective teachers' students. Some teachers who have not trained in metacognitive ability would be caused by the lack of understanding of the stages in carrying out metacognitive ability. It has not realised that metacognitive ability can affect students' learning process and learning outcome. The students who have the excellent metacognitive ability can develop metacognitive domain-oriented learning. This study aims to know the metacognitive skills of prospective primary school teachers in Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. This research used a quantitative approach to descriptive type and survey method. The samples are 100 students of elementary school educations of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan consisted of the semester II, IV, and VI. The instrument used Metacognitive Ability Inventory (MAI) with the Likert scale(1-5). Data were analysed using descriptive statistics to determine the Mean, standard deviation, percentage, and metacognitive categorisation of elementary school education students. The research result showed a low-medium range category. It influenced by some factors related to the inadequate metacognitive development of prospective primary school teachers. Judging from the cognitive knowledge aspect, the high category of the percentage calculation of cognitive knowledge aspects is in the declarative knowledge aspect. In the cognitive regulation aspect, planning becomes the highest percentage of cognitive regulation aspect.
