“…However, the traditionally applied thermopressing method requires high temperatures not applicable with all the DSC materials (Chiang, Chen, & Liu, ; Fakharuddin et al, ). Laser‐assisted glass‐frit sealing demonstrated on single cells and panels circumvents this problem (Ivanou, Santos, Maçaira, Andrade, & Mendes, ; Maçaira, Andrade, & Mendes, ) with good stability results (Maçaira et al, ), which proves that suppressing external aging mechanisms by high‐quality sealing can greatly extend the lifetime. However, the bulky glass substrates are a significant cost‐factor (Fakharuddin et al, ), not to mention that they are not applicable for flexible DSCs.…”

“…After Grätzel introduced the DSSC technology, only a handful of reports actually show testing of DSSC outdoors . In general, outdoor testing is quite rare for the third generation photovoltaics, for instance regarding perovskite solar cells only two studies were found and both were quite short (days to weeks) .…”

“…Mostly, the DSSC outdoor studies demonstrate manufacturing a module with larger size and its ability to function in power generation, but there are also studies of single cells. The typical aging time scale is several months , but there are also studies where cells have been outdoors for only few days to weeks or much longer tests from one to 2.5 years . Locations of the studies limit on rather narrow longitude range from 21°N to 48°N (Table ) and studies are mostly rather close to sea level with maximum altitude around 300 m. The typical climate conditions are subtropical and mostly sunny, ranging from dry to humid.…”
