“…Conversely, in 2 and 3 the presence of water molecules or hydroxyl groups leads to strong O-HÁ Á ÁO interactions, both intermolecular and intramolecular. In 2, the coordinated water molecules, besides being involved in intramolecular interactions, act as H-bond donors towards the O2 atoms of an adjacent molecule, giving rise to the R 2 2 (12) ring as shown in Fig. 7.…”

“…Metal complexes with three (modified) 2,2′-bipyridine ligands are of continous interest (Janiak et al, 1999;Wu et al, 2003;Yang et al, 2004a,b). Tris(2,2′-bipyridine)copper structure are known with the anions tris(oxalato)chromate(III) (Juric et al, 2006), polyoxovanadate (Dong et al, 2006), polyoxotungstate (Niu et al, 2004), bis(bis(2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolato)-nickelate(II) (Faulmann et al, 1998), tetraphenylborate (Murphy et al, 2006) and perchlorate (Anderson, 1972;Liu et al, 1991;Majumdar et al, 1998;Pavlishchuk et al, 1999).…”

“…[1][2][3][4] Generation of a symmetric, metal-organic receptor can be achieved in one of two ways. One is to coordinate three ditopic ligands in a manner 20 related to the well-documented ruthenium or iridium tris-2,2'-bipyridyl (bipy) complexes.…”
