“…A growing body of evidence does show specificity of adaptations to individual bilingual experiences both from a cross-sectional (Beatty-Martínez et al, 2019;Bonfieni, Branigan, Pickering, & Sorace, 2019;DeLuca, Rothman, Bialystok, & Pliatsikas, 2019Gullifer et al, 2018;Luo et al, 2019;Mamiya et al, 2016;Nichols & Joanisse, 2016;Ooi, Goh, Sorace, & Bak, 2018;Pliatsikas, DeLuca, Moschopoulou, & Saddy, 2017;Rossi, Cheng, Kroll, Diaz, & Newman, 2017;Sulpizio, Del Maschio, Del Mauro, Fedeli, & Abutalebi, 2020;Thomas-Sunesson, Hakuta, & Bialystok, 2018;Yamasaki, Stocco, & Prat, 2018) and longitudinal perspective (DeLuca, Rothman, & Pliatsikas, 2018;Grant, Fang, & Li, 2015;Hervais-Adelman, Moser-Mercer, & Golestani, 2015;Hofstetter, Friedmann, & Assaf, 2016;Hosoda, Tanaka, Nariai, Honda, & Hanakawa, 2013;Legault, Fang, Lan, & Li, 2019;Mårtensson et al, 2012;Mohades et al, 2015;Schlegel, Rudelson, & Tse, 2012). “…The current study tested a group of late unbalanced bilinguals on their performance on a version of ANT and a translation task with a set of L2 words with a wide range of corpus frequency. Most importantly, relative increase in L2 vocabulary proficiency reduced the conflict cost in ANT performance in a within-group study, which makes a substantial contribution to the research in bilingualism effect on the cognitive control functions in young adult unbalanced late bilinguals (Tao et al, 2011;Singh and Mishra, 2013;Poarch et al, 2014;Singh et al, 2015;Vega-Mendoza et al, 2015;Mishra et al, 2018;Xie, 2018;Bonfieni et al, 2019).…”

“…This study shows a selective simplification of the original system with inappropriate extension of the explicit form, in parallel with evidence from L2 speakers of such languages. Research on adult and child bilingual speakers of two null-subject languages of the same type found the same over-extension of the overt pronoun (Malgaza and Bel, 2006;Bonfieni et al, 2019).…”
