This study aimed to assess vegetal cover evolution on a river island within the Ecological Station of (EEP), by remote sensing. For this purpose, Normalized Difference Vegetation Indexes were generated for Landsat 1 (1973( ) and Landsat 5 (1984( , 1990( , 2000 images. Five landscape units were identified in the field: bare soil, Rough savanna, Typical savanna, Forested savanna and Evergreen dry woods. Only Forested savanna and Evergreen dry woods showed poor spectral splitting, being thus considered as a forestry complex. Changes throughout time have occurred in all units, with decreasing in bare soil areas (-2.56 ha year -1 ), Rough savanna (-0.66 ha year -1 ) and Typical savanna (-0.94 ha year -1 ) and with an increase in the Forested savanna (5.97 ha year -1 ). Thus, the method used in this study was effective for sorting and assessing plant cover of the landscape units studied over time.

ABSTRAKHutan merupakan bagian dari ekosistem yang menyediakan jasa lingkungan bagi satu kesatuan ekosistem. Penurunan fungsi hutan dalam suatu ekosistem terjadi salah satunya karena deforestasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan membangun model spasial deforetasi di KPHP Poigar. Metode analisis deforestasi yaitu dengan analisis perubahan tutupan hutan menjadi tutupan bukan hutan dengan teknik post classification comparison. Analisis faktor penyebab deforestasi dilakukan dengan pembangunan model spasial deforestasi menggunakan model regresi logistik biner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa luas penurunan tutupan hutan akibat deforestasi pada periode 2000 sampai 2013 yakni 12.668,2 hektare. Penyebab deforestasi di KPHP Poigar dipengaruhi oleh enam faktor yaitu jarak dari jalan, jarak dari pemukiman, jarak dari sungai, kepadatan penduduk, ketinggian tempat dan kemiringan lereng. Model regresi logistik dibangun menggunakan lima peubah penjelas yaitu jarak dari jalan, jarak dari sungai, kepadatan penduduk, ketinggian tempat dan kemiringan lereng. Kemampuan model dalam memprediksi deforestasi sebesar 58 % dari kejadian deforestasi aktual, sehingga model spasial deforestasi dapat menjadi salah satu sumber informasi untuk penyusunan arah pengelolaan KPHP Poigar kedepan.Kata kunci: Deforestasi, model regresi logistik, pemodelan spasial, KPHP Poigar ABSTRACT Forest is a part of the ecosystem that provides environmental services. Abstract:In recent years, many researchers have devoted their efforts to finding an objective measurement of sustainability by developing evaluation tools based on sustainability indices. These indexes not only reveal the current state of water resources in a given area but also contribute to the development and implementation of effective sustainable water management and decision-making. The great disadvantage of these indices is that for proper application, a number of variables are necessary and they are usually not available in data-scarce aquifers. This study was designed to evaluate sustainability in groundwater resource management in an aquifer in a semiarid zone, using readily available parameters and under a pressure-state-response framework. This methodology has been applied to an aquifer in Southeast Spain with satisfactory results, since the indicators that were evaluated reflect the two main problems that hinder sustainable resource management: the contamination of groundwater by intensive local farming; and the need for external inputs from other basins to alleviate water stress.
