Lagrangian decomposition of the Deacon Cell

Abstract: The meridional overturning cells in the Southern Ocean are decomposed by Lagrangian tracing using velocity and density fields simulated with an ocean general circulation model. Particular emphasis is given to the Deacon Cell.
