Lacinutrix chionocetis sp. nov., isolated from gut of a red snow crab

Abstract: A Gram-negative, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterial strain, designated MAB-07, was isolated from the gut of a red snow crab. The novel strain grew optimally at 20 °C, pH 7.0-8.0, and in the presence of 3% (w/v) NaCl. A phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that the strain MAB-07 belongs to the type strains of species of the genus Lacinutrix. Strain MAB-07 exhibited 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity values of 95.5-97.8% with the type strains of species of the genus Lacinutri… Show more

“…MK-6 was identified as the only menaquinone present in strain HL-RS19 T , which is the same as that found in other Lacinutrix spp. [16,[19][20][21][22][24][25][26][27][28]. The major fatty acids (>5%) of strain HL-RS19 T were iso-C15:1 G (16.5%), iso-C16:0 3-OH (12.9%), anteiso-C15:1 A (9.9%), anteiso-C15:0 (9.7%), iso-C15:0 (9.0%), and iso-C15:0 3-OH (8.3%); a detailed fatty acid composition is given in Table S2.…”

“…In addition to L. copepodicola, the polar species includes L. mariniflava, L. algicola [9] and L. jangbogonensis isolated from the Antarctic [10], and L. himadriensis isolated from the Arctic [11]. Species isolated from warm waters include L. iliipiscaria and L. gracilariae isolated from China [12][13][14], L. cladophorae and L. chionocetis from Japan [13,15], L. venerupis from Spain [16] and L. undariae and L. salivirga isolated from South Korea [17,18]. To date, the studies of Lacinutrix sp.…”
