Pregnant women's problems in prenatal adaptation and maternal attachment negatively affect the health of the mother, family and the baby. Childbirth education may increase adaptation to pregnancy by increasing women's self-confidence and help strengthen the bonds with their babies. This study aimed to investigate the effects of childbirth education on prenatal adaptation, prenatal and maternal attachment.Methods: This study was with pre/post-education, semi-experimental and prospective design. Research data were collected using the Participant Identification Form, Prenatal Self Evaluation Questionnaire, Prenatal Attachment Inventory and Maternal Attachment Inventory.Results: A total of 173 women, 90 (52.0%) in the education group and 83 (48.0%) in the control group, participated in the study. The prenatal and prenatal attachment adaptation levels of the control and education group were found to be similar before this study (p=0.770 and p=0.277, respectively). Pregnant women's prenatal adaptation increased after education and between-group differences were significant (p<0.001). Prenatal attachment level also increased in the education group after education (p<0.001). However, prenatal and maternal attachment levels were similar between groups (p=0.171 and p=0.763, respectively). Conclusion:It was identified that childbirth education increased prenatal adaptation but did not affect prenatal and maternal attachment. Childbirth education routinely provided as a part of antenatal care by health professionals ensures awareness in parenting by increasing prenatal adaptation.

Bu araştırmanın amacı; kadınların ve eşlerinin doğumda eş desteğine ilişkin görüşlerini incelemektir. Fenomeolojik tipteki araştırma, normal doğum yapan 15 kadın ve eşleri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir (n=30). Veriler görüşme formu ile derinlemesine ve yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler tema ve kodlar altında toplanmış, verilerin analizinde tümevarımsal içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan kadınların tamamı doğumlarında sosyal desteğe ihtiyaç duyduğunu ifade etmiş, çoğunluğu utandığı/çekindiği, eşinin kendisini güçsüz görmesini istemediği, eşlerin doğuma girmesini yanlış bulduğu, doğumhane ortamının eşlerin girmesine müsait olmadığını düşündüğü için doğumda eşlerinin kendisine destek olmasını istemediğini belirtmiştir. Kadınların eşlerinin tamamı, eşlerine doğumlarında destek olmak istediklerini, en çok doğum öncesi dönemde (n=10) ve duygusal destek (n=12) olmak istediklerini söylemiştir. Kadınların doğum sürecinin tamamında sosyal destek ihtiyacının olduğu, kadınların eşlerinin doğumda onlara destek olmak istemelerine rağmen, kadınların çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı eşlerinin doğuma girmesini ve kendisine destek olmasını istemediği sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

Objective: Our research was carried out to determine the relationship between social support perception levels, state and continuity anxiety levels of women in the latent phase of labor (dilatation between 0 and 4 cm) and some variables. Materials and Methods:The study is descriptive and was conducted between une 1 and September 1 in Tekirdağ orlu State ospital aternity Service. Sample selection was not made, and 245 women who volunteered to participate in the study constituted the sample of the study. The data of the study were collected using the personal information form developed by the researchers, the State Trait Anxiety Scale, and the ultidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support SPSS package program was used to evaluate the data Results:The women participating in the study n: no statistically significant difference was found between the mean scores of the multidimensional social support scale perceived by women in labor, family sub-dimension, friend sub-dimension, and special someone sub-dimensions and the state anxiety scale (p> A statistically significant negative correlation was found between the mean scores of the continuity anxiety scale and the multidimensional perceived social support scale friend, someone special sub-dimension and the total score averages (p <0.05). Conclusion:According to the results of the research, it was determined that the anxiety levels of the pregnant women were generally at a moderate level and their perceived social support was not sufficient It was concluded that the increase in the level of social support perceived by women at birth was effective in reducing their anxiety levels In addition to midwife support at birth, it was concluded that having any family member or a woman's choice as a birth supporter would be effective in reducing anxiety.
