The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of labor productivity on poverty, economic growth and GDP per capita in West Kalimantan, and to determine the effect of economic growth and GDP per capita on poverty in West Kalimantan. The variables used are poverty level, labor productivity, economic growth and GDP per capita of 14 districts / cities in West Kalimantan from 2008-2017 sourced from the Central Statistics Agency of West Kalimantan. Analysis used by using path analysis. The results show that labor productivity has a negative and significant effect on poverty. Labor productivity partially has a positive and significant effect on economic growth and GDP per capita, while economic growth and GDP per capita have no partial effect on poverty, and a greater direct effect on labor productivity on poverty in West Kalimantan than indirect effects either through economic growth and GDP per capita.

Labor has an important role in economic development, especially in the agricultural sector, but it will be a problem if the amount of Labor is not proportional to the available employment. This is a challenge for the government to be able to provide employment along with the increasing labor force. This study aims to determine the effect of Gross Regional Domestic Product, Human Development Index, Minimum wage, open unemployment on employment in the agricultural sector in Central Java province. The results of panel data regression concluded that the model selected in the panel data is FEM with the results of the open unemployment rate variable has a positive and significant effect on agricultural sector labor, but the minimum wage, HDI, GDP variables have a positive and insignificant effect on Labor. Validity test of influence in the FEM model concluded in the F test variable minimum wage, HDI, GDP, TPT together influence on Labor. R-square in the FEM model of 77.44% of the variables in the model affect the workforce. Based on the results of the estimates, the effect of GDP, HDI, Minimum wage, open unemployment rate is positive. The open unemployment rate variable has an effect on HDI, but the GDP variable, Human Development Index and minimum wage have no effect on the agricultural sector workforce. GDP variable does not affect the agricultural sector labor with a probability of 0.3196. Human development index variable has no effect on the agricultural sector workforce of 0.1509. The district minimum wage variable has no effect on the agricultural sector workforce of 0.8503. Variable open unemployment rate affects the agricultural sector workforce of 0.0000. F test of 0.0000 means that the variables GDP, HDI, Minimum wage, open unemployment rate jointly affect the agricultural sector workforce.

“…GRDP coefficient = 0.62599, meaning ceteris paribus if there is an increase in GDP by 10% it will increase employment (the number of workers working in the industry) by 6.23% and vice versa. The Role of Accommodation and Food Service Industry which is measured by its contribution, employment and its affecting factors, employment elasticity, as well as labor productivity towards economy, particulary tourism, has not been optimised. This research aims to analyse: (1) the impact of Provincial Minimum Wage (PMW), Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), the Number of Businesses, and Inflation on employment in Accommodation and Food Service Industry; (2) its contribution toward economy, employment, employment elasticity, and labor productivity in the given industry. The analytical tools used in this research are Descriptive Statistics and Pooled Data Regression Model (FEM and REM Approaches). The data being analysed is secondary data series 2014-2018 and cross sectional which is taken (provinces in Jawa-Bali) and respective to this research problem and goal. The result shows that the factors influencing employment rate positively and significantly are GRDP and inflation, whilst those affecting insignificantly are PMW and the number of businesses. The average contribution during 2015-2018 was 7.43% annually, whereas in Bali and DIY, the contribution was 23.17% and 10.21%, respectively. The employment rate per business averaged to 497 people with the average growth of employment in the given industri of about 14.22% annually. The employment elasticity was 0.63 and labor productivity per person averaged to IDR 84.99 million higher than national average of IDR 53.84 million/person in 2018. Consequently, in order to increase output, high multiplier effect in economy, stable inflation (3%-4% annually), and prudential PMW policy are required
