“…From the vantage point of the violence committed by students, a study that analysed the experiences of secondary school teachers who have suffered from some type of violence from students throughout their careers at both public and private schools reported that aggression from physical and particularly verbal violence has increased considerably in recent years, in addition to criminal acts against these teachers. This is associated with problems in praxis like difficulties maintaining classroom control, a lack of strategies to handle conflicts and a lack of institutional support in this type of situation (Gómez-Nashiki, 2014), which also reveals the need for training in managing discipline and developing social-emotional competences (Córdoba-Alcaide, Félix, & Ortega-Ruiz, 2017; Zych, Beltrán-Catalán, Ortega-Ruiz, & Llorent, 2018). Our results lead us to suggest that schools should work steadily to diminish classroom violence, which would have a positive influence on the social climate and the domain score.…”

“…Furthermore, good behavioural classroom management is related to less aggression among peers and improved social climate (Valdés-Cuervo et al, 2018). On the other hand, the literature has reported risk factors with implications for CSC with regard to the development of disruptive behaviours at school such as high levels of teacher-student violence (Gómez-Nashiki, 2014). In this regard, another study reported that aggressive behaviour significantly predicts high scores on depressive symptoms, perceived stress and loneliness in both sexes, and that low scores on self-esteem, life satisfaction and empathy at school were related to low scores on academic engagement (Estévez, Jiménez, & Moreno, 2018).…”
