The objective of this work is to review literature, worldwide, in which the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) ergonomic assessment method was applied and count the number of times that REBA was applied together with other methods and subsequent incidence. The database used was the “Web of Science—Core Collection”. Only scientific articles and bibliographic reviews were included, analysing a total of 314 documents and selecting only 91. The use of the REBA method is indicated in terms of knowledge, country, year and journal sectors. It was most used in the knowledge areas of “Manufacturing” (24.18%), “Agriculture, forestry and fishing” (21.98%) and in “Other activities” (19.78%). One of the benefits of REBA is that it evaluates different body parts: upper limbs (arm, forearm and wrist), lower extremities, trunk and neck. It is a useful method to identify the forced postures adopted by workers to thus develop improvement measures if necessary. It is concluded that REBA method use has increased over the last decade, probably due to the digitization of knowledge. It is almost always applied in combination with other methods, and its use can be a positive indicator of company sustainability.

Job rotation is an organizational strategy widely used in human-based production lines with the aim of preventing Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs). These work environments are characterized by the presence of a high repetition of movements, which is a major risk factor associated with WMSDs.This article presents a genetic algorithm to obtain rotation schedules aimed at preventing WMSDs in such environments. To do this, it combines the effectiveness of genetic algorithms optimization with the ability to evaluate the presence of risk by repeated movements by following the OCRA ergonomic assessment method. The proposed algorithm can design solutions in which workers will switch jobs with high repeatability of movements with other less demanding jobs that support their recovery. In addition, these solutions are able to diversify the tasks performed by workers during the day, consider their disabilities and comply with restrictions arising from the work organisation.

Due to the nature of the activities performed, the welding position in the metal-mechanical processes exposes its workers to various risks that generate severe damage to their safety and health, affecting both the worker and the company due to the loss of man hours due to medical breaks that impact on lower productivity, as well as economic losses. Dysergonomic risk deserves special attention due to the high frequency and severe consequences of Musculoskeletal Trauma that it can generate in its workers, and in this sense the objective of the research is to improve the productivity of the welding position through the prevention of dysergonomic risk by providing an occupational health management model for its application. By means of the Nordic Standardized Questionnaire, the analysis of musculoskeletal symptoms was carried out, selecting as object of study the welding activities performed for the modification of excavator buckets, observing as risk factors the postural effort and the manual shuffling of parts, from which the REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) and the NIOSH (The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) methods were selected for the evaluation of the dysergonomic risk. In conclusion, an 11% increase in average productivity levels has been achieved.
