Happiness has become a new moral regime in neoliberal societies that defines what is right and wrong and stresses the insource of responsibility. More importantly, happiness stands out as a new model of selfhood that aligns with the neoliberal ideology of individualism and consumerism at the same time that legitimizes and rekindles this same ideology in seemingly nonideological terms through the discourse of science. The paper claims that this model of selfhood turns citizens into psytizens, that is, into psychological clients whose full functionality as individuals is largely tied to the pursuing, consuming, and development of their own happiness. The paper analyzes this notion of psytizen and its three main features, comments upon the happiness industry that simultaneously presupposes and targets this model of selfhood, and examines the role that happiness studies, in general, and positive psychology, in particular, play in shaping this emerging notion of citizenship.

A study has been carried out to identify the perception and emotional attribution of the students of Pedagogy in Physical Education during their educational practice. The methodology responds to the qualitative approach. The participants are 22 students who are in their third academic year. The data was collected through a personal diary and subjected to an inductive content analysis, using the Atlas.ti 7.5 program. The results indicate that the participants mostly perceive positive emotions for their subjective wellbeing, while the attributions emerged two central categories, named social interaction and pedagogical role. It is concluded that emotions emerge mainly due to the desire to achieve an adequate pedagogical practice, the affection received and the contribution in the learning of schoolchildren.

RESUmOO objetivo deste artigo é mostrar a atualidade das teorias críticas ao campo da Psicologia Social, propondo a revitalização da categoria analítica ideologia. Trata-se de um artigo teórico-empírico, dividido em quatro partes: (a) breve histórico do conceito de ideologia, (b) articulação teórica da ideologia com a Psicologia Social, (c) identificação das tendências na produção de artigos na Psicologia & Sociedade, de maneira a verificar alguns caminhos conceituais de ideologia nesta revista e (d) reflexão sobre como o emprego da ideologia no sentido crítico pode colaborar na análise do atual contexto brasileiro. Concluímos reafirmando que a categoria ideologia é complexa e diversa, mas ainda pouco valorizada pela Psicologia Social. Uma Psicologia Social que se proponha sociológica deve colocar a ideologia numa perspectiva crítica como centro de suas preocupações, juntamente com a comunicação.Palavras-chave: psicologia social; ideologia; política; teorias críticas. AbSTRACTThe purpose of this article is to show the relevance of critical theories to the field of Social Psychology, proposing the revitalization of the analytical category ideology. This is a theoretical and empirical paper divided into four parts: (a) brief history of the concept of ideology, (b) theoretical articulation of ideology with Social Psychology, (c) identification of trends in the production of articles in the journal Psicologia & Sociedade, in order to verify some conceptual paths of ideology in this journal and (d) consideration on how the use of ideology in the critical sense can collaborate with the analysis of the current Brazilian context. We conclude reaffirming that the category ideology is complex and diverse, but still underrated by Social Psychology. A Social Psychology that proposes to be sociological must place ideology in a critical perspective in the center of its concerns, along with communication.
