The aim of this recent study was to investigate the effects of different ratios of poultry manure and sheep feces on the fermentation quality of fermented poultry and sheep manure (FPSM). This study used poultry manure, dry sheep feces, cassava flour, molasses, and the addition of multiple microbes (Saus Burger Pakan, SBP®). Dried and ground sheep feces, as adsorbents, were mixed with fresh poultry manure at different ratios, including 40% sheep feces and 60% poultry manure (T40), 50% sheep feces and 50% poultry manure (T50), and 60% sheep feces and 40% poultry manure (T60). Each treatment was replicated in triplicate, and 30 kg of each silo was fermented for 14 d. After fermentation, the samples from each treatment were analysed to determine their physical characteristics, chemical compositions, fermentation characteristics, and microbial contamination. The data were analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s test if any significant difference was detected. The FPSM results showed that T60 presented (P<0.05) higher amounts of dry matter, crude fibre, pH, and lactic acid bacteria colonies. This study recommended the addition of as much as 60% SBP® inoculum and absorbent poultry manure to produce optimum and effective fermentation quality in poultry manure processing.

This study aims to determine the physical quality of Pakchong grass silage (Crimson pennywort cv. Thailand) with the addition of molasses. Variableobserved were texture, color, aroma, pH and presence or absence of mold. This study used pakchong grass taken from Waipirit Village, Kairatu District, West Seram Regency, and molasses. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Feed Engineering, Department of Animal Husbandry Pattimura University for 21 days. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications, namely P0 = pakchong grass + 0% molasses P1 = pakchong grass + 2.5% molasses P2 = pakchong grass + 5% molasses P3 = pakchong grass + 7.5% molasses. The results showed that the addition of molasses doses showed a significant effect on texture, color, aroma, pH but had a not significant effect on the presence or absence of mold. The higher the dose of molasses given the lower the degree of acidity (pH). The addition of 5% molasses gave the best results on the physical quality of silage, namely soft, dense and not slimy texture, good color (yellowish green), sour aroma, no fungus and had a pH value of 3.6.

Sugarcane bagasse is an agricultural waste that could be processed into ruminant alternative feed. Sugarcane bagasse processing was very necessary to improve the nutritional as animal feed using fermentation application which was one way to increase the nutritional of sugarcane bagasse using cow feces inoculum and EM-4 (Effective Microorganism-4). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect nutritional quality of fermented sugarcane bagasse using different types of inoculum. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications that are ; P0: sugarcane bagasse without inoculum addition (control), P1: sugarcane bagasse + 5% cattle feces, P2: sugarcane bagasse + EM-4 10%, P3: sugarcane bagasse + 5% cattle feces + E-4 10%. The parameters measured include dry content, crude protein, crude fiber, and crude fat. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncanâ€™s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that a mixture of 5% cow feces and 10% EM-4 had a very significant effect (P <0.01) to increase crude protein â€‹â€‹and significantly (P <0.05) to reduce crude fiber. The conclusion of this research was the addition of 5% cow feces inoculum and 10% EM-4 (P3 treatment) was the best treatment because it increased crude protein content and decreased crude fiber
