Show more

“…The cadastral limits of the building stock surveyed by Tertlliani et al (2011) were then digitized, with a total of 2142 buildings (s0), a bigger sample than the original one (sT = 1700 buildings). As such dataset did not include a detailed characterization of the buildings inspected, further studies were performed by the Earthquake Damage Analysis Center (EDAC -Bauhaus-Universität Weimar) to collect, with the same tools, detailed characteristics of the buildings following the scheme proposed by Schwarz et al (2018).…”

“…Additionally, it can be discussed whether the same scale used to evaluate a global damage grade can be used to evaluate the damage at an element-wise level, as the Da.D.O. scheme does, or if future discussions are needed to develop an EMS-98 complementary scheme where the "LEGOisation" of a structure is to be taken as basis for an element-wise damage assignment as proposed by Schwarz et al (2018) and briefly addressed in case of masonry structures by Cattari & Angiolill (2022).…”

“…The building stock of the city of Freital was documented on a microscale level using a coordinated parameter list, which was implemented in an updated version of the EQUIP building survey tool developed by EDAC (cf. [31,32]). The EQUIP (elaboration, qualification and interpretation) tool supports the documentation of building characteristics for subsequent detailed vulnerability analyses and damage modelling.…”
