Klinik, Therapie und Prognose der Pericarditis constrictiva

Abstract: Summary. Between t952 and 1973 26 patients with constrictive pericarditis were treated operatively. There were t9 males and 7 females with a mean age of 40 years. In i2 % tuberculosis and rheumatism were found to be the etiologic factors.X-rays showed calcium deposits in 69 %. The heart silhouette was enlarged in 23 % and small in only 4 %. 9 patients had atrial fibrillation preoperatively.
