А н н о т а ц и яВ статье анализируются взгляды известного казахского историка Ж.О. Артыкбаева на проблемы сохранения и изучения историко-культурного наследия калмыков. В трудах ученого особое внимание уделено археологическим памятникам, буддийским монастырям, памятным местам, культурным и природным ландшафтам, связанных с этнической историей калмыков и ойратов, военными событиями, жизнью выдающихся исторических личностей. Ставится задача по системной разработке целостной концепции сохранения, актуализации и научного изучения историко-культурного наследия как новой междисциплинарной области знаний на межстрановом, общероссийском, региональном и местном уровнях с учетом накопленного отечественного и зарубежного опыта, оптимальной модели информатизации наследия, использования инструментов экологического мониторинга к современному состоянию объектов историко-культурного наследия и уникальных территорий. Национальное историко-культурное наследие калмыцкого народа, историческая память, преемственность -это код самоидентификации этноса. Суть национальной самоидентификации видится в единстве наследования и актуализации, накопленных прошлыми поколениями культурных знаний и ценностей. Сегодня, как никогда, важны понимание и осознание необходимости сохранения знаний о своем культурно-историческом прошлом. Историко-культурное наследие кочевых цивилизаций Центральной Азии, включающее в себя обширный комплекс старописьменных памятников, культовых сооружений, археологических артефактов и других разнообразных предметов материальной культуры, обладает огромным информационным потенциалом и позволяет глубже познакомиться с духовной культурой номадов.

This article focuses on the project Sacred Geography of Kazakhstan, launched in 2017 in Kazakhstan as part of the nationwide program Ruqani Zhangyru (Modernization of Spirituality). The officially stated goal of the project is to cultivate a sense of patriotism in the country’s residents related to places and geographic sites that are important for the historical memory of independent Kazakhstan. The authors assume that the real goal of the project is national territorialization, or recoding of the semantics of space, by selecting, codifying, and articulating some symbols and practices, while leveling and “forgetting” others. The analysis, which is based on expert interviews and official documents, shows that this postcolonial process fits into the tendency toward ethnonationalization of Kazakhstan, in which discourse on the civil nation continues to be reproduced at the official level, while real activity is more focused on reinforcing the idea of Kazakhstan as the state of the Kazakh nation. The institutionalization of organizing and recoding the sacred landscape involves a wide variety of groups and actors. These factors may explain the success of the project in comparison to other projects being implemented under the Ruqani Zhangyru program.

The paper presents some observations on the special characteristics of two signs used in the Oirat Clear Script alphabettwo additional graphemes that imitate the Tibetan subscripts ya (yatag) and wa (wazur). These two signs are unique because they transfer the principle of Tibetan orthography into Clear Script: if a syllable contains the vowel a, it is not marked in writing. Although the two signs that imitate yatag and wazur are consistently used in Clear Script and can be found in most texts of Buddhist content, in academic publications they are often overlooked and not marked in transliteration, which can lead to inaccurate interpretations of certain words. This paper justifies the necessity of employing special symbols to distinguish these signs in transliteration, and offers examples showing the use of yatag and wazur in seventeenth-century manuscripts, which allows one to trace their history back to the very first decades of the existence of the Clear Script alphabet.
