The purpose of this study was to find out the fishing traditions carried out by women on Ndao Island, and to analyse the pedagogical-sociological values contained in these fishing traditions that need to be passed on to the next generation. The results obtained from this study are that there are a number of fishing traditions carried out by women on Ndao Island, namely Djaâi, Lege tatohi, HÃ¨bâbi, PasÃ¨ra, and Bhabho. From this tradition there are a number of pedagogical and sociological values obtained and need to be passed on to future generations, namely: 1). Men learn to appreciate womenâs work, 2). The equipment used to catch fish are kalera and kanaca, and these two tools are used as a symbol of marriage. 3). People are taught to be patient and diligent in doing a job. 4). The community learns from the Ndao women to always work together in doing a job. 5). Learn to share results as a form of embodiment of love for others.

Seagrass plays an important role in aquatic resources, such as to support the sustainable management of small-scale fisheries, ensuring the availability of seagrass stocks for generations of local communities to cultivate in a sustainable manner. The purpose of this study is to provide information on the seagrass health status to support sustainable small-scale fisheries in the South Misool Regional Waters Conservation Areas which is located within the Raja Ampat Marine Protected Area of West Papua. The research was conducted in January 2019 in the Yefgag, Yellu and Harapan Jaya island. A total of ten quadratic transects measuring 1x1 m were laid perpendicularly to the coastline adapted from the seagrass watch method to collect the seagrass data, i.e. the species and the frequency of seagrass found, the dominance and the percentage of seagrass cover. Additional data on fish species were collected by interviewing the local fishermen directly. The relationship between seagrass cover and the number of fish species was analyzed. Th results showed that there were eight species of seagrass found in three observation stations, i.e. Halophila ovalis, Halodule uninervis, Halodule pinifolia, Halophila minor, Syringodium isoetifolium, Cymodocea serrulata, Cymodocea rotundata and Enhalus acoroides. According to the standard criteria for the health status of seagrass beds, the three locations are classified as less rich/less healthy. It because the seagrass coverage was in the range of 30-59%. The relationship between the percentage of seagrass cover and the number of fish species resulted equation of Y = 15,923x + 0,3174 with R2 = 0,763. It means that the percentage of seagrass cover affects the abundance of fish species by 76,3% with the remaining being influenced by other variables, such as water quality.

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kawasan Konservasi Laut (KKL) Raja Ampat, Provinsi Papua Barat, pada bulan Oktober 2019. Pada awal penetapan sebagai KKL tahun 2007, kondisi perairan Raja Ampat dipersepsikan baik, dengan keanekaragaman sumberdaya ikan (SDI) tinggi. Namun saat ini perlu dievaluasi, setelah 15 tahun sejak ditetapkan menjadi KKL. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi kondisi KKL dengan pendekatan analisis PSR (pressure, state, response), dengan pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder. Data primer berupa persepsi masyarakat terhadap pengaruh adanya KKL terkait kondisi SDI, ekosistem dan sosial ekonomi masyarakat, dengan instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner dan wawancara dengan purposive sampling terhadap responden, yaitu penangkap ikan, aktivis dan tokoh masyarakat, wisatawan dan penentu kebijakan setempat, menggunakan skala jawaban persentase (%). Data sekunder diperoleh dari dinas terkait berupa kondisi demografi, geografis dan sosial budaya. Hasil penelitian, di KKL Raja Ampat terdapat pressure (tekanan) berupa kesejahteraan masyarakat rendah, sumber mata pencaharian mengandalkan penangkapan ikan, aktivitas perikanan merusak dan illegal fishing dari nelayan pendatang, berkembangnya pariwisata bahari dan isu rencana penambangan di laut. State (kondisi eksisting) bahwa perairan belum rusak, jumlah kapal dan nelayan serta biaya melaut meningkat, harga ikan meningkat, kondisi terumbu karang dan mangrove lebih baik, dengan kesejahteraan meningkat dan KKL dianggap baik. Juga ketersediaan ikan semakin banyak, sehingga penangkapan ikan semakin mudah, walaupun area penangkapan ikan menjadi jauh, sehingga kesejahteraan masyarakat semakin baik. Response (tanggapan) dengan membuat regulasi pada skala desa atau kabupaten, yang fungsinya untuk menyelamatkan SDI, ekosistem pesisir dan kesejahteraan masyarakat.Â Data isian kuesioner, bila diklasifikasi dengan kisaran, persepsi baik kisaran 50-90 % responden, suatu kondisi yang baik, sedangkan persepsi buruk/jelek dengan kisaran 0-20% responden. Saran kebijakan, bahwa response yang ada agar segera diatur dalam peraturan daerah, dan segera dibuat strategi pengembangan KKL Raja Ampat berdasarkan analisis PSR ini yang dilengkapi bioeconomic analysis danÂ economic valuation, agar strategi pengembanganÂ KKL lebih realistis, dengan dasar analisis ilmiah yang valid.Â
