Political involvement, namely community activity in influencing the methods of preparing and implementing public policies, as well as participating in choosing government leaders. Social media is widely used as a place to engage in political activities. This study aims to examine the quality of social media information, social media reputation, trust, use of social media, and millennial political involvement. The instrument of this research is using a questionnaire created using a Google form that is distributed online. The respondents of this study are millennials. This study contributes to the inconsistency test between social media information quality variables and political involvement. The results of the study prove that there is an influence between the variables use of social media and political involvement. This study also concluded that most of the millennial generation use social media for 3 hours/day to seek information and communicate. Finally, this research can find that the use of social media affects political involvement.

The problem of young people ignorance toward politics become talks of the day, as the election comes nearer, such as the case of Bandung City, the capital city of West Java Province during the local election for Mayor of the city in 2018. Of 1.650.333 voters, 330.066 or 20% are first-time voters. Due to their considerable proportions, it is believed they played important role in the local election. The promising potential of young people in the biggest local politics of West Java Province become the concern of two most popular political talk shows in Indonesia, Rosi broadcasted by Kompas TV and Mata Najwa of Metro TV. Both TV programs were expected to share the value of information and to inspire young people to participate in the election. In the disruptive era, television particularly during election is still a powerful tool and remained prominent among public. A critical textual analysis toward both programs shows similar points in the way each program addresses youths as their target of the campaign. The research also revealed that there are different approaches used by each talk show to engage with young people as potential voters for the local election in Bandung City, West Java Province, Indonesia. The KPU's communication target in general elections is to increase voter participation by giving them their voting rights in elections. Preliminary studies show that around 69.8% of 40 fishermen in Manggar District, East Belitung Regency, are still apathetic towards political processes such as elections and feel that their involvement in politics will have no impact. Therefore, the KPU then implemented an interpersonal communication strategy in an effort to increase the political efficacy of the fishing community in Manggar District. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques of interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which consisted of the stages of data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study found that the East Belitung KPU, together with members of the Manggar District Election Committee (PPK), held face-to-face meetings and discussions with fishermen groups as part of the KPU's outreach activities to the public. KPU has been open and honest in conveying any information related to the election, understanding the problems felt by fishermen, and providing support in the form of providing election education and knowledge to fishermen. In addition, KPU has also tried to build an atmosphere and interaction with fishermen to foster equality, as well as a communication approach that considers fishermen important. External factors such as the social environment or friends in the community and the candidate's vision and mission that can prosper the fishermen are factors that also influence the fishermen's perceptions and evaluations of elections and the political system in Indonesia.
