Kemampuan Literasi Matematis Siswa SMP Dilihat Dari Perspektif Gender

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Baregbeg sebanyak enam orang. Pengumpulan data meliputi tes tertulis dan wawancara. Data dianalisis berdasarkan aspek kemampuan literasi menurut OECD yaitu a) Merumuskan situasi secara matematis b) menggunakan konsep, fakta, prosedur dan penalaran matematika c) Menafsirkan, menerapkan dan mengevaluasi hasil matematika . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: a) Kemampuan peserta didik laki-laki menunjukkan kemampuan literasi matematis pada kategori cukup, peserta laki-laki kebanyakan mampu menjawab pertanyaan namun tidak menuliskan langkah-langkah dalam menyelesaikan soal yang diberikan dan peserta didik menjawab pertanyaan sebagian salah; b) kemampuan peserta didik perempuan menunjukkan kemampuan literasi matematis pada kategori baik. Ketiga subyek perempuan mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan aspek merumuskan situasi secara matematis, terlihat dalam pengerjaan menuliskan jawaban yang sesuai dengan indikator yang diberikan dan sebagian mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan baik; c) Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan literasi matematis antara peserta didik laki-laki dan perempuan.
