Data on birds in agroforestry areas of South Kalimantan are not yet available. The purpose of the study was to analyze bird species that use agroforestry areas as habitats. The sample locations are the agroforestry areas of Kiram Village, Biih Village, and Pulau Nyiur Village, Karang Intan District, Banjar Regency. Diurnal bird species were observed and individuals were counted at 07.00-10.00 and 15.00-18.00 with five replications and the point count method in October 2021. Only a point count was placed in each village. Observational aids are binoculars and a prozumer camera. Twenty-five bird species were found in all agroforestry areas of Karang Intan District. Species and individual birds spread differently at each sample location. The index of bird species diversity from the highest to the lowest is the agroforestry area of Pulau Nyiur (2.63), Biih (2.47), and Kiram (2.43). Although the community similarity index differs between calculations based on the number of species and based on the number of individuals, the order of similarity from highest to lowest is the same, namely Kiram-Biih, Kiram-Pulau Nyiur, and Biih-Pulau Nyiur. Because it is also a suitable habitat for protected or threatened birds, agroforestry areas can be maintained and even improved as natural conservation areas

Composition and feeding guilds bird community in tropical peatland of Orang Kayo Hitam Forest Park buffer area, Jambi, Indonesia. Intl J Bonorowo Wetlands 13: 57-65. Tropical peat ecosystems are vulnerable to fire damage and conversion, including in the Orang Kayo Hitam (OKH) Forest Park buffer villages, Jambi Province, Indonesia. The peat ecosystem is a habitat for various birds. In the ecosystem, birds act as seed dispersers, pest controllers, and pollinators, so their presence can be used as bioindicators of environmental quality. This study aims to analyze the composition and feed guilds of the bird community. The line transect method is used to explore the path in bird watching. The data were then analyzed using descriptively and qualitatively. In total, 29 species from 18 families comprised five species of waterbirds and 25 species of land birds. The families with the highest number of species were Alcedinidae, with a percentage of 13.79% each (4 species). At the same time, the lowest were Apodidae, Bucerotidae, Hirundinidae, Laniidae, Meropidae, Psittacidae, Rallidae, Cisticolidae, Turnicidae, Ploceidae, and Passeridae, with only one species (3.45%) identified per family. Based on the feed guild, there were nine types of guilds, with the highest rate being granivore (24,14%), while the lowest was insectivore on the forest floor (3.45%). The presence of bird species based on the feed guild indicates that shrubs or weeds dominate the land cover of the buffer village around the OKH Forest Park.

Birds are a good predictor of habitat quality. The conversion in Watu Ondo Waterfall has been carried out, and there is no data regarding the bird community in this area, so it is necessary to research about the bird community. This study aims to identify the composition, analyze the level of diversity, evenness, richness, dominance, and the conservation status of birds species. This type of research is explorative descriptive with a quantitative approach. The research was conducted in the Watu Ondo Waterfall area, with a ±600m observation path starting from the city border to the waterfall. There are 4 observation stations with a distance between stations is 150m. The method used point count. Sampling was carried out at 06.00−10.00 and 14.30−17.00 with 3 repetitions. Based on the results of the study, 307 individual birds were found consisting of 46 species, 9 orders, 25 families and 39 genera. The average value of diversity is 2.54 (moderate). The average value of evenness is 0,87 (high). The average value of richness is 4.34 (high). The mean dominance value is 0.14 (No dominant species). Based on the conservation status found that 10 species of birds protected by government regulations and 5 species of birds classified into Appendix II by CITES. Referring to the IUCN status, found that 38 species of Least Concern, 3 species of Near Threatened, 3 species of Vulnarable and 2 species of Endangered.
