Using data from 24 European advanced and emerging countries between 2000 and 2020, this paper examines the impacts of circular economy (CE) on agriculture employment (AE) and female employment patterns. Based on the availability of data, the study uses three CE indicators: generation of municipal waste (GMW) per capita, the recycling rate of municipal waste (RRMW), and patents related to recycling and secondary raw materials (PRSRM). To investigate the relationship between CE and AE, as well as CE and female AE, panel cointegration analysis and Granger causality tests are conducted. The results reveal that whereas RRMW, PRSRM and AE are in equilibrium in the long run, increasing waste lowers female attraction to the sector. The study therefore suggests that developing and expanding waste management initiatives and innovation are critical to the growth of agricultural employment and the closing of existing gender gaps. Despite concerns that rising recycling practices may negatively impact employment, our empirical results indicate that CE will create opportunities and increase employment levels. The evidence suggests that promoting CE in agriculture is economically, ecologically, and socially beneficial.

Based on survey data covering 309 family grain farms in China, a structural equation model was used to conduct an empirical study on the relationship between ecological cognition, digital agricultural technology adoption, and the sustainable development of family grain farms in China. The results are in the following: Ecological cognition has a significant positive effect on the sustainable development of family grain farms. And digital agricultural technology adoption has a partial mediating effect on the influence of ecological cognition on the sustainable development of family grain farms. The ecological cognition level of farmers should be continuously improved, and more support should be given to adopt digital agricultural technology to effectively promote the sustainable development of family grain farms in China.

Halkla ilişkilerin, politik ve kültürel olarak kutuplaşmış toplumlardaki en güncel uygulama alanlarından biri kurumsal sosyal savunuculuk girişimleridir. Henüz halkla ilişkiler alanında Türkçe literatüre girmemiş olan kavramın, Türkiye’de hakkında geniş bir literatürün geliştiği kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk kavramından önemli farklılıkları bulunmaktadır. Örgütlerin tartışmalı konular hakkında duruş sergilemesi olarak tanımlanan kurumsal sosyal savunuculukta ele alınan konu, genellikle örgütün faaliyet alanı ile ilişkili değildir ve kavram, sosyopolitik bir konuda taraf tutmak anlamına geldiği için kurumsal sosyal sorumluluktan daha risklidir. Bu çalışma, kurumsal sosyal savunuculuk argümanlarının hangi unsurlarla yapılandırıldığını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışmada, “Kadınlara Yönelik Şiddet ve Aile İçi Şiddetin Önlenmesi ve Bunlarla Mücadeleye İlişkin Avrupa Konseyi Sözleşmesi”nden Türkiye’nin çekilmesine yönelik farklı kesimlerin dahil olduğu kamusal tartışma esnasında; Koç Holding, Borusan Holding ve Sabancı Vakfı’nın yapmış olduğu kamuoyu açıklamaları kurumsal sosyal savunuculuk örneği olarak ele alınmıştır. Söz konusu kamuoyu açıklamaları argüman analizi ile incelenmiş ve argüman analizi için Stephen E. Toulmin’in “Argüman Modeli”ndeki aşamalar takip edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda, söz konusu açıklamalarda İstanbul Sözleşmesi’nden çekilmenin yanlış bir karar olduğuna yönelik argümanların, İstanbul Sözleşmesi’nin kadına yönelik şiddetle mücadelede önemli bir işlevi olması gerekçesiyle desteklendiği ortaya konmuştur. İstanbul Sözleşmesi’ne yönelik ihtilaflı tartışmada, aksi bir argümanın kadına yönelik şiddetle mücadeleye zarar vereceği yönündeki net duruş sergilemeleri, incelenen açıklamaları kurumsal sosyal savunuculuk girişimleri olarak örneklendirmeyi mümkün kılmıştır. Bu çerçevede çalışmada, kurumsal sosyal savunuculuğun, halkla ilişkilerin topluma olan katkısının görülebileceği bir alan olduğu ve bu sayede halkla ilişkilerin sosyal bilimlerde yeniden konumlandırılması gerektiği ileri sürülmüştür.
