Issues for initiating interdisciplinary doctoral programmes

Abstract: The initiation of a new Ph.D. programme in the twentyfirst-century university requires foresight, strategic planning and, often, a commitment to an interdisciplinary format which capitalizes on shared resources across related disciplines.
