Isoxazole Functionalized Crosslinked Resin Complexes of Transition Metals as Polymeric Catalysts for Hydrogen Peroxide Decomposition

Abstract: Crosslinked functionalized polymers are highly efficient in immobilizing transition metal ions. The activity of Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of polystyrene bound Isoxazole resin have been tested towards the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. The decomposition reaction followed a first order dependence on the concentration of both the substrates and the catalyst.
