Isothermal section of the Cu-In-Pd system at 800°C

Abstract: A combination of physicochemical analysis methods is used to study the phase equilibria in the Cu-In-Pd system. An isothermal section at 800°C has been constructed. The copper solubility in the binary phases of the In-Pd system is determined.

“…On the other hand, the behaviour of Au differs from that of Cu, which also belongs to Group 11 and has a VEC of 1. In the Pd-Cu-In ternary, Cu dissolves in the InPd 3 phase up to 26 at% (16 at% for Au), retaining the CuAu structure type (Ptashkina et al, 2015), but does not form the Cu 3 Au phase. Moreover, the analogous Pd 3 Sn phase, with the Cu 3 Au structure type, does not dissolve Cu at all; a ternary phase with a structure unrelated to fcc is formed instead (Kareva et al, 2014).…”
