Die w‐Phenylalkylamine (I) werden in einer modifizierten Birch‐Reaktion mit Lithium in flüssigem Ammoniak zu den Cyclohexadien‐(1,4)‐alkylaminen (II) reduziert, aus denen durch Behandlung mit Adenin (III) bei höheren Temperaturen die N(6)‐alkylierten Adenine (IV) gewonnen werden.
