Several compounds have been isolated from the roots, trunk bark and leaves of M. nigra, such as the piperidine alkaloid (moranoline), glycoproteins and phenolic compounds (flavonoids, stilbenes, coumarins) (NOMURA; HANO, 1994;KIM et al, 1999;TOSHIO et al, 2005;MAZIMBA et al, 2011).
