Isolation and characterization of a novel thermophile; Bacillus haynesii , applied for the green synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles

Abstract: The establishment of a benign system for the nanoparticle (NPs) synthesis, is a key in nanotechnology for the environmental and health care industries. Therefore, enrichment of novel biological systems for the green synthesis is in significant demand, to lift up these compounds in the biomedical industries. The present work, reports the green synthesis of ZnO NPs, employing a novel thermophile, identified as Bacillus haynesii (GeneBank: MG822851) isolated from the leaf of date palm plant (Phoenix dactylifera),… Show more

“…The MBCs of biosynthesized AgNPs for E. coli and S. aureus were 25 lg/mL and 100 lg/mL, respectively ( Figure 10). The result revealed that the MBCs of the newly synthesized antimicrobial agent using strain MAH-11 were much lower than those of previously synthesized antimicrobial agents [29]. The MICs and MBCs of biosynthesized AgNPs were higher for S. aureus than those for E. coli.…”

“…From this result, it was demonstrated that the MICs of the biosynthesized AgNPs by strain MAH-11 were significantly less than other antimicrobial agents. For example, the antimicrobial agent such as biosynthesized ZnO NPs where the MICs were 8 and 4 mg/mL against E. coli and S. aureus, respectively [29]. Another antimicrobial agent was phenyl lactic acid where the MICs were 2.5 and 1.25 mg/mL against E. coli and L. monocytogenes, respectively [30].…”

“…The prepared samples were placed on the stubs, left for drying using a desiccator, and finally coated with gold. Coated samples were analyzed at an accelerating voltage of 20 kV by SEM [30,31]. Figure 1 displays the X-ray powder pattern of CoNd x Fe 2−x O 4 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2) NPs.…”

“…Researchers have been concluded that the photocatalytic performance of nanomaterials significantly depends upon the synthesis route, size, shape, crystallinity and dimension [32][33][34][35][36]. At present, different researchers have prepared ZnO nanostructures by different synthesis methods i.e., sol-gel [37][38][39], hydrothermal [40][41][42], co-precipitation [43][44][45], green [46][47][48][49], electrospinning [50,51] and sonochemical [52,53].…”
