“…Bu bağlamda işitme kayıplı çocuklarla iletişimde de işaret dilinin kullanımına yer verilmesi onların gerek bilişsel, gerekse sosyal, duygusal gelişimlerini olumlu yönden etkileyerek, tam katılımları noktasındaki sınırlılıkların aza indirgenmesinde rol oynamaktadır (Behne vd., 2005;Vallotton, 2011). Her ne kadar aileler erken dönemde çocuklarının iletişimini ve toplumsal yaşama katılımlarını desteklemek adına, sosyal destek, işaret dili kullanımı, bütüncül bir dil gelişiminin desteklenmesi noktasında özen gösterseler de işitme kayıplı çocukların eğitimlerinde destek süreçlerinin planlanması ve etkili öğrenme ortamlarının oluşturulmasında süphesiz en temel rol öğretmenlerindir (Piştav Akmeşe, 2018, 2019a; Piştav Akmeşe ve Kayhan 2016aKayhan , 2016bKayhan , 2017Kayhan , 2018a.
