Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Abstract: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common, chronic gastrointestinal condition defined by disturbances in bowel habits and abdominal pain, in the absence of known organic pathology. IBS reduces patients’ quality of life, and exerts a substantial, negative impact on financial resources of patients and society at large.
