“…As well described before in the Editorial by Fritz, Hoppe and Hanke for the celebration of “100 years of Zeitschrift für Anorganische und Allgemeine Chemie ”, the journal was able to overcome the difficult years of a two‐years interruption during the war, and managed to appear as an “all‐German journal” despite of the separation of Germany. During this period the relative number of contributions from Germany increased, but concurrently in 1953 also the first article was published in English . Since then the English language gradually developed into the international language in chemistry.…”
