“…Many studies in the literature discussed the effect of various reinforcements over the base matrix of different Al alloy matrices. 41,42,43,44 They have highlighted the significance of FSP in improving the mechanical, rheological, and tribological behaviors of the prepared hybrid surface composites. Results of those studies have provided sufficient information on the utilization of V TRS , V TS , NoP, and RV as processing variables, which have the maximum impact on prepared surface composite.…”

“…Yigezu et al (2013) developed an insitu Al-12%Si/TiC composite and reported that the normal load was the dominant factor for material loss, and sliding distance was a major factor influencing the coefficient of friction (COF). Nathan et al (2023) developed AA7075graphene oxide-reinforced composites fabricated through the FSW method. The study shows a significant reduction in the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), hardness enhances the wear resistance, and the surface morphology of the worn surface reveals a mild adhesive with abrasive behaviour.…”

“…One of the cutting-edge approaches is friction stir processing (FSP), which has the potential to alter the microstructural behavior of aluminum composites without compromising the mechanical characteristics of the basic substrate. [8][9][10] It also has the advantage of preventing the agglomeration of particles by uniform reinforcement distribution on the base matrix. 11 In FSP, a non-consumable tool including a shoulder that is moved towards the workpiece till the bottom face of the shoulder is in touch with the workpiece surface and the pin is plunged into the workpiece.…”
