Investigation on thermal conduction of graphite film enhanced carbon fiber polymer composite by laser flash analysis

Abstract: Laser flash analysis (LFA) is an advantageous transient method, widely used for measuring thermal diffusivity of solid materials nowadays. In this paper, the thermal conductivity of graphite film enhanced carbon fiber composite was measured by LFA and the results show an unusual size-dependent effect which was considered to be due to violation of homogeneous assumptions. To investigate the size effect, numerical analyses based on the representative volume element (RVE) models were implemented to evaluate the t… Show more

“…The material parameters used in the calculation process are listed in Table 1. Thermal conductivity (Wm −1 K −1 ) 20.5 [28] 55.84 6.61 [29] Among them, the thermal conductivity of carbon matrix was measured by Shanghai Institute of Silicate, China Academy of Sciences. The test basis was ASTM E1461-13, TA DLF-2800, ASTM E1269-18, Setaram MHTC96, the loading rate was 5K/min, and the atmosphere protective gas was Ar.…”
