Investigation of the motion processes of wastewater in sewerage of high-rise buildings

Abstract: When designing, constructing and operating sewage pipelines in high-rise buildings, issues of failure-free operation of a network arise. Investigation of the processes of wastewater moving allows identifying problem areas during operation, assessing the possibility of obstructions and breakdowns of plumbing traps on the gravity drainage sections of the pipeline. The article performs the schemes of the water outflow from the floor sewer into the riser, including the places where the riser is bent, of air delive… Show more

“…The foul water in the stack flows around the pipe's inner walls and creates a hollow cylinder with an air core in the middle [4]. At the connection points of the branch pipes with a larger flow, the air core slowly closes and creates a piston effect, which leads to negative pressure (Fig.…”

“…The water from a branch pipe hits the opposite wall of a stack at the point of connection and then falls downwards (Pomogaeva et al, 2018). As it falls downwards, water flows around the inner pipe walls, forming a hollow cylinder with an air core in the middle.…”
